An Giang Tourism- Famous tourism destinations in An Giang


An Giang Tourism – While many people think that Western Vietnam has a land of gardens, rivers, and ecological zones, An Giang makes a different impression on visitors. This land is strange but familiar and hides many mysteries.

An Giang has two major urban centers including Long Xuyen city and Chau Doc town where guests can spread in many directions to go to different destinations. From the western bus station, you can catch a lot of coaches to go to Long Xuyen, rent a bike and do a tour of exciting destinations in An Giang.

Tra Su Cajuput Forest

Tra Su cajuput forest is about 10 kilometers from the border between Vietnam and Cambodia. It is located in Van Giao Commune, Tinh Bien district which has a famous and mysterious mountain called That Son. This is a typical submerged forest of tropical plants in western Hau River. It is home to many water birds, wild animals and aquatic species under the SUF system in Vietnam.


Coming to Tra Su cajuput forest, you will have a chance to observe the lives of many strange birds and rare animals while sitting on the boat moving into the nature conservation zone. What is more, listening to stories of charming girls dressing áo bà ba (a Vietnamese silk pyjama) is an interesting thing. During the itinerary to discover this forest, you can relax in a hammock or walk to admire sights. This is great for relaxing your mind.

Co To Mountain

Co To Mountain known as Phoenix Mountain located in Co To commune, Tri Ton district, An Giang province, is 60 meters in height. In Southwest Vietnam, An Giang is the only province having mountains. These mountains are also pretty special. Guests can completely relax when climbing mountain roads including built steps and enjoy the diverse beauty of mixed forests, protection forests and orchards with immense mango, jackfruit and many other species.


In the mountains, there are many famous monuments such as Fairy Yard, Nam Can temple, and which are ideal destinations for those who want to be close to nature and find peace and serenity. Amidst forests and mountains, visitors can see a few small houses where they can stop to take a rest, go sightseeing, and enjoy fresh air. A special thing is that if you come here in the rainy months, you have a chance admire the beauty of the two streams including O Thum and O Sora So. Also, you should visit Hoai Sa Lake which retains a pristine, quiet beauty with blue water and its calm, peaceful surface.

Nui Cam (Forbidden Mountain)

Located in An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, Forbidden Mountain is the highest and largest mountain of 7 legendary mountains in An Giang. Forbidden Mountain and Lam Vien area were invested to become a resort. On the mountain peak, there are many attractions such as Linh Son Pagoda, Great Buddha Temple, and Maitreya Buddha.


Ket Mountain

Ket Mountain located in the eastern of Nha Bang town, Tinh Bien district is a small and low mountain with only the height of 220 meters. This was called Ket Mountain (Parrot) because a giant rock appearing halfway up the mountain looks just like the head of a parrot. The road to this mountain has 600 meters in length, built stairs and hallways to ensure safety. On the mountain peak, there are attractions such as Fairy Yard, Fairy Well, Chu Than temple, Buddha Temple, Mau Temple, Ngoc Hoang Temple, Huynh Long Temple, and U Minh Temple where many buddhists to visit for holidays.
