Travel to Ca Mau – Ca Mau Province is situated on the final place of Vietnam with many features that are not owned by any place. Ca Mau Nose, the last destination in this place, is the southernmost of the S-shaped country and the only place in the mainland where you can watch sunrise in the east coast and sunset in the west coast. If you have a chance to visit Ca Mau, you can discover ecological forests as well as revolutionary bases.
You cannot really feel being Ca Mau unless you explore mangrove systems including U Minh forest which is one of the greatest forests and considered as a famous place in Ca Mau. What is more, the forest is classified as a unique and rare forest in the world.
U Minh forest is divided into two parts consisting of U Minh Thuong and U Minh Ha. There are Trem River and Cai Tau River located between these parts. Coming to U Minh, you will be immersed in the vast space of pristine forests and fresh air with fragrance of flowers, the buzzing of bees, and the singing of birds. You can walk into this forest in the dry season or sit on canoes provided by service providers here in the rain season. Remember that you should go to U Minh in the rain season to visit flooded forests and avoid accidents such as fires in the dry season.
The next place is Hon Khoai including 5 adjacent islets (Hon Khoai, Hon Doi Moi, Hon Tuong, Hon Sao and Hon Da Le) with a total area of 4 square kilometers. This is considered as the most beautiful island group in the southernmost of Vietnam and where you can admire the lighthouse. Hon Khoai is located in Ngoc Hien district and approximately 20 kilometers far from the mainland.
Hon Khoai was formerly known as Hon Doc Lap, Giang Huong, or Obi Poulo. Local people name this island as Hon Khoai because it looks like a giant potato. This name has been used until now. What is more, it has pristine forests along beaches and fresh air. All things help you discover nature and take rest comfortably.
Hon Khoai is also famous for monuments in connection with Pham Ngoc Hien, a teacher fighting against French colonialists and the famous lighthouse existing more than 100 years. Apart from beautiful sands, Hon Khoai beach has rocks with rounded stones like giant eggs. Visitors also enjoy seafood on the beach or on the forest with canopies of ancient trees. You can hear the singings of birds and the sounds of waves. All the elements of nature, culture and people here attract tourists.
In addition to the above sites, you can visit Hon Da Bac with poetic islets having granite stones stacked to form beautiful shapes. You can also take a tour to bird sanctuaries like Ngoc Hien bird sanctuary and Ca Mau bird sanctuary to see peaceful paintings of this western land.
