Sa Dec flower village
While Hanoi is famous for Ngoc Ha flower village, Dong Thap is famous for Sa Dec flower village. This is one of the largest flower centers of the Southern Vietnam with 600 households growing flowers and 60 hectares of flower area.
Coming to Sa Dec, you will able to see hundreds of blooming flowers and plants with old bonsai.These simple plants become especially rare and beautiful due to the hands of talented artists who care and shape them.
In Sa Dec flower village, you will enjoy colorful flower fields which only appear on the banks of Tien River where there are sun, wind, and fertile areas. This will be a destination you really should not be ignored.
Junior Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac relic site
Coming to Dong Thap, you will definitely regret if you do not visit Junior Doctor Nguyen Sinh Sac relic site. This site is divided into two groups of buildings: Nguyen Sinh Sac’s tomb and memorial area, and an area to simulate where Uncle Ho lived and worked in Hanoi.
Opposite the entrance is Nguyen Sinh Sac’s tomb. In this relic, you can admire the beauty of plants and flowers donated by many people in the country. Especially the tomb has a 300 year old starfruit tree planted on the left and an over 300 year old ficus pisocarpa tree one the right.
The memorial house exhibits a lot of artifacts and materials related to a particular time period when the junior doctor lived and worked in Cao Lanh and provinces of Mekong delta.
On October 27 th (lunar calendar), local people take part in activities to celebrate the date of Nguyen Sinh Sac’death.
Lai Vung - pink tangerine paradise
In addition to spring rolls, Lai Vung is famous for pink tangerines. This type of tangerines has been planted in this land for more than 100 years. These tangerines are large, round, juicy and sweeter than those other areas.
Coming to Lai Vung, you will really overwhelm when entering tangerine orchards. Previously tangerines have their flowers in May and are ripe after 9 months. Recently, farmers have learned how to get ripe tangerines around the year.
