Hanoi Travel - Tips must be known before travel to Hanoi

Hanoi Travel –– Holding the culture of thousands years with the continuous modernization, the capital of Vietnam is the destination that all Vietnamese as well as foreign tourists want to visit at least once. We would like to inform you things to know to have the best impression of Hanoi.

Weather
The North of Vietnam has four separated seasons and Hanoi is the place that is significant for this characteristics. It’s very hot in summer while in winter, it’s absolutely cold, and in spring, it is slightly rainy and humid. Unless you want to experience the difference in climate, you should visit Hanoi in autumn that is often from September to November.

Sightseeing

President Palace, Ba Dinh Square and President Ho Chi Minh Tomb are famous destinations in Hanoi that tell the story of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi history. You can also visit Mot Cot temple that is located next to the right of President Ho Chi Minh tomb.
Though it hasn’t stayed the same as it was in the past, Hanoi ancient streets still hold the significant beauty in architecture and culture of Hanoians.
To be one of the most attracting places in Hanoi, Ho Guom (Hoan Kiem Lake) with The Huc Bridge, Ngoc Son temple, the Turtle tower has been known with the story of a sword return by King Ly Thai To. Another lake that is famous in Hanoi is West Lake nearby which is Quan Thanh temple that has a black copper scrubture with the height of 3.2 meters and the weight of 4 tons. Not too far from Quan Thanh temple is Tran Quoc temple – one of the most ancient temples in Hanoi, which has been built from the 6th century with a special architecture.
Quoc Tu Giam is a must to be mentioned since it’s the very first university of Vietnam. In this cultural and historical place, there are 82 stones in which the name of 1306 doctors from 1442 to 1779 have been written.

Transportation
The transportation in Vietnam in general and in Hanoi in particular brings deep impression to foreign tourists. In order to visit places in like the ancient streets, Hoan Kiem lake, you should go on foot to discover the beauties and specialties of these destinations. To go to places that are far from another, you might travel by bus, taxi or motorbike-carrier. Currently, there are 50 bus routes in Hanoi that starts from 5 AM to 9PM with the frequency of 5-20 minutes depending on the route. The famous taxi brands in Hanoi should be mentioned are Mai Linh, My Dinh, Noi Bai, etc.
You should also prepare yourself a map to decide the way and the distance of your chosen route to avoid being cheated by motorbike-carriers or taxi drivers. You should ask for the price before using any services. The best way is to ask staffs of your hotels for consultancy before going anywhere.
To come to or leave from Hanoi without participating in tours, you should also know where the big stations are located at, like My Dinh Station, Luong Yen Bus Station, Giap Bat Station, Gia Lam Station,Hanoi Train Station or Noi Bai Airport.

Other notes

Tourism services in Hanoi have been taken great development, however, you should also face inconveniences, for example, you should avoid shopping in the morning since if you want the seller to reduce the cost of any items in the morning, or you would have wanted to buy something, but finally you wouldn’t have bought it, you might get into troubles since people in the North of Vietnam consider those to be unlucky signs for their business.
